Osman Damba

Dr. Damba holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics from Ataturk University-Turkey, an MPhil in Agribusiness from the University of Ghana, Legon and a BSc in Agricultural Technology, UDS. His focus is on agribusiness SMEs, agricultural market access and financing, farm business management, price transmissions, and policy analysis. Dr. Damba has extensive experience in international and local agricultural development and project management and evaluations. He has detailed knowledge of various econometric softwares including SAS 9.4, R, RATS, SPSS, Gretel, JMulti and Eviews. Dr. Damba’s experience spans from working as a Business Development Advisor with the International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC), Project Officer with the Pan African Organization for Sustainable Development (POSDEV) in charge of OXFAM GB’s Livelihood evaluation, Agribusiness Cluster Advisor with Farmers Organization Network in Ghana (FONG) as well as a Market Access Coordinator with the Association of Church Development Projects (ACDEP). He has executed consultancy services on end evaluations, capacity building trainings as well as business plan development for SMEs in Ghana. He currently teaches Agricultural Finance and Farm Management and Postharvest Value Chains at the postgraduate level. He also teaches Food and Nutrition Economics, Environmental and Health Economics, Environmental and Social Impacts of Climate Change as well as Food and Nutrition Policy at the undergraduate level. He has to his credit, a number of publication in peer reviewed journals and is currently the Vice General Secretary of the Ghana Association of Agricultural Economists (GAAE)..
